• First licensee in Argentina followed by one in Brazil, Japan and Mexico.

• Forster Willi acquires the sequin patent from patent holder Ochsner and buys the company "Sequins International" in New Jersey. Jakob Schlaepfer becomes licensee of Forster Willi.

1988

• Acquisition and successive integration of Jacob Rohner AG in Rebstein, Switzerland.

1992

• Merger of Forster Willi AG and Jacob Rohner AG into Forster Rohner AG.

1994

• Founding of Forster Rohner (Suzhou) Embroidery Co., Ltd. in Suzhou, China.

2000

• Founding of the dyeing and finishing facility Suzhou Embroidery Dyeing in China.

2001

• Entry of the 4th generation represented by Emanuel Forster and Caroline Forster.

  Acquisition of Inter-Spitzen AG in Switzerland and its subsidiary in Lugoj, Romania.

2007

• Emanuel Forster takes over the operative management of Forster Rohner AG. Caroline Forster takes over the leadership of Inter-Spitzen AG.

2008

• Miuccia Prada launches the famous guipure series "Volute", launching an unprecedented boom in guipure embroidery that is boosting the embroidery industry worldwide.

  Rebuilding of the head quarters in St. Gallen into a compact plant with modern rooms and a library with more than 400,000 embroidery designs of two centuries.

2009

• Michele Obama wears a woolen guipure embroidery from Forster Rohner on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of her husband and US President Barack Obama.

  Forster Rohner Textile Innovations is an independent division of the Forster Group and develops and produces electronic textiles for a wide range of markets from industry to fashion.

2011

• The conductive yarns from Forster Rohner Textile Innovations are patented. This lays the foundation for LED textiles and textile sensor technology.

  Forster Rohner wins the "Imagination Prize" at Première Vision in Paris.

2016

• Forster Rohner is the first company in the world to install the Saurer Epoca 7 embroidery machine.

  Jakob Schlaepfer AG, St. Gallen, becomes part of the Forster Group. Caroline Forster and Emanuel Forster jointly lead the Forster Group as Co-CEOs.

2017

• Foundation of Forster Rohner Ilidža d.o.o. in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

2020

• The Forster Group starts producing community masks.
